(b) It is worth while = worth reading this article carefully: 이 때는 worth를 대신하는 worth while로서, 시간을 보낼 가치가 있는 ~을 의미할 땐 이렇게 worth while이 worth처럼 쓰일 수있습니다 => 예외적인 경우입니다.

[3] This article is worth while to read. ~ 부정사(to read)의 타동사 read의 목적어가 바로 이 문장의 주어(this article)가 되는 경우
=> 이 때는 위 [2]의 경우와는 다르게 worth while뒤에 나오는 to read가 수동의미가 아님 <= 이런 문장 형태 또한 흔히 접하는 형태는 아닙니다.

- "~ing형태의 동사 (reading)"만 나올 땐, worth를 써서 ~ 수동의미를 가지는 것으로 [2] ,
- 가주어가 사용되고, "~ing형태의 동사 + 동사의 목적어(reading this article)"가 나올 땐, worth/ worth while 모두 다 가능한 것으로 [1] (a) (b) ,
- to 부정사 형태가 나올 땐, worth while (또는 worthwhile)만 쓰는 것으로 [3] ~알아두시면 문제는 틀리지 않을 것입니다.
